“I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter,” said Walt Disney, the founder of Disney world. This philosophy of Disney aptly fits the outlook and philosophy of Mustafa Hamza, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Metro Medical Care Kuwait. Mustafa always believed in the positive side of life always and as a born optimist, he always saw the brighter side of life, even though he understood there are many complexities in the day-to-day life of every individual.
Hailing from Mathamangalam in Kannur district of Kerala, and born into the Underakathu Tharavadu, Kadannappally to Hamza.T., a madrasa teacher and Fathima Hamza was a housewife, little Mustafa was taught the values of life and the need to help those in need by his parents at a young age. The values he grew up with has made him to identify those challenges faced by his fellow human beings and help them to support in their hour of need.
Leaving the motherland a few decades back, the young Mustafa reached Kuwait in search of better opportunities and the initial challenges made him realise the life in a foreign land is not at all rosy as seen from home. Overcoming the initial challenges and trouble, he realized there are many needy people who have no employment, food, health, and social security measures. The most disheartening experience was the concerns raised by the family and friends of many expatriates Languishing in the Kuwaiti jails by misjudegment or oversight of the authorities, he found the sufferings of many lives, and this prompted him to work day and night to earn justice to many innocent lives from withering away.
Another area touched him was the sufferings and difficulties faced by friends and family while sending the bodies of expatriates once an untimely death happens. His hard work and persistent efforts ensured that it became a peaceful transition of process and, indeed a great relief for those concerned. His efforts with the authorities have ensure now the legal documentation processes could be done within 24 hours with the support from the higher officials of all the concerned Government departments.
Another major contribution made by Hamza is during the Kuwait Amnesty when the honourable rulers of Kuwait eased the rules for the illegal residents to leave Kuwait for back home by completing all legal formalities. He supported thousands of such Indians to return home safely.
