PIONEER WITH PASSION FOR AVIATION 

Captain Ramandeep Oberoi is a pioneering Chief Operating Officer with a passion for aviation. Born and raised in Delhi, Captain Oberoi's journey in the aviation industry began with his graduation from the National Defence Academy, following which he joined the Indian Air Force (IAF) in 1978. Recognizing his talent as a Flight Instructor, the IAF sent him to the French Test Pilot school (EPNER) in 1987-88, where he acquired the title of Experimental Test Pilot. Captain Oberoi played an instrumental role in setting up the Rotary Wing Test Pilot School for the IAF in Bangalore and was a young Air Force Test Pilot in India when he was chosen to be a part of the prototype test flying team for the Dhruv helicopter project with Euro Copter and HAL. HAL subsequently sought him out to join them in a leadership role as a Test Pilot, where he played a crucial part in doing Experimental Test Flying on Dhruv helicopter prototypes.

Captain Oberoi's thirst for knowledge and passion for experimenting, challenging, and finding solutions led him to join Raymond Limited in Mumbai to create a Helicopter and Corporate Jets charter company Million Air company—Million Air. During his tenure with Million Air, Captain Oberoi diversified the company into the Oil and Gas aviation sector, becoming a specialist in offshore helicopter operations. From Million Air, he moved to Gulf Helicopters Qatar, and from there, to Abu Dhabi Aviation in the UAE, where he spent six years as Flight Trainer and Examiner, before becoming the VVIP pilot of the Rulers’ family in Abu Dhabi.

In 2014, Captain Oberoi joined Falcon Aviation, owned by HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, as Chief Operating Officer (COO). His role as COO involves overseeing Falcon Aviation’s local and international operations across various verticals. Under his leadership, Falcon Aviation has developed and delivered technology-driven aviation services and solutions that provide formidable client services while driving profitable revenue growth.

Over his 46 years in the aviation industry, Captain Oberoi's experience spans across 14 years of military flying, 5 years of experimental test flying, and 27 years of commercial flying, with over 13,000 hours of flying time on more than 30 aircraft and helicopter types.

His skills include aircraft acquisition, working with OEMs, aircraft sales, MRO, aircraft maintenance, budgeting, ground operations, flight training, airports, FBO, and airworthiness. He has proven experience in running business jets and helicopter charter and supports oil and gas aviation. Captain Oberoi is a strong business development professional with experience running profitable aviation companies and expertise in company evaluation and IPO processes.

As an aviation expert with the government of UAE, Captain Oberoi is a strong believer in supporting Dubai and Abu Dhabi where he manages significant hangar MRO and FBO operations. With this vertical Falcon Aviation will be the largest provider of Aircraft Management, MRO, Hangarage and FBO for MENA and Indian market.

Captain Oberoi manages 28 helicopters, five of which are used for touring flights from Atlantis Dubai, with plans to add five more for the Touring flight business. Under Captain Oberoi's leadership, Falcon Aviation has turned around helicopter tours in Dubai, transporting 300 passengers daily from Atlantis to tour Dubai. Falcon Aviation supports the UN WFP by sending helicopters to famine-related areas in Africa and Asia.

Today, under Captain Oberoi’s vision Falcon Aviation Services is a stakeholder in the urban air mobility sector and plans to introduce eVTOLs for Dubai in the coming years.

Working in collaboration with Embraer and other manufacturers,he plans to introduce flying taxis as eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and lift) from Vertiports in UAE, starting in 2026/27. According to Captain Oberoi, this project fully aligns with the Smart Dubai vision and will contribute significantly to positioning Dubai as a global leader in sustainable urban air mobility transportation. This ambitious project may well be Captain Oberoi's legacy in the Middle East.
