Vinay Varma is a visionary entrepreneur and the owner of multiple restaurants, including Chappon Bhogh, Kwality, and Royal Orchids. With a commitment to good business ethics, hard work, and an unwavering passion for creating exceptional dining experiences, Mr. Varma has emerged as an influential figure in the UAE.
Mr.Varma did his schooling at St. Mary’s Academy, Meerut and the family was moving from one place to another as his father, Nandalal Varma, was in the military engineering. Mr. Varma’s talent for culinary creativity was evident from a young age. While he initially considered a career in the armed forces, destiny steered him toward his true calling - the art of crafting exquisite and mouthwatering delicacies. Armed with a degree in hotel management and catering technology from the Institute of hotel management and Catering Technology, Dadar, Cadel Road, Mumbai, Mr. Varma started his journey in the culinary field. After gaining invaluable experience working in renowned companies such as Spinneys catering which was supplying food to the oil rigs so he worked in off shore locations such as Buhasa, Afshan and Azad to name a few.
Mr.Varma established Kwality, a fine dining restaurant that would become a legendary culinary institution in Abu Dhabi. Since its founding in 1980, Kwality has remained the epitome of gastronomic excellence. Mr. Varma expanded his culinary empire by launching Chappan Bogh in 2000. Recognising a gap in the Abu Dhabi market for a place to savour Indian festive sweets and street food delicacies, he created a haven that quickly became a favorite among locals and expatriates. Spurred by the success of Chappan Bogh, Mr. Vinay ventured into Thai cuisine, leading to the birth of the Royal Orchid Group in 1988.
Mr. Varma’s culinary prowess and dedication to his craft did not go unnoticed. His passion for delivering delightful experiences was personally acknowledged when he was invited by the Indian Ambassador, Navadeep, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the UAE. Mr. Modi relished the delectable Chappan Bhogh sweets during the visit and even offered some to a temple in Bahrain.Mr.Varma has received numerous honours and accolades throughout his illustrious career. These include a Commendation award from the Embassy of India in November 2007, a Guinness World Record for the most varieties of desserts on display by Chappan Bhog Abu Dhabi on 7th December 2019, and a Business Super Achiever award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Abu Dhabi Chapter in 2015. His name was listed in "The Business Who's Who Publishing Board" in 1996-97, and he is a patron of Axis Bank. Additionally,
Mr. Varma has been bestowed with the Shukran Award from the Indian Ladies Association and felicitated by the World Punjabi Organisation in 2010 and 2008. He holds an honorary membership at The Club in Abu Dhabi.
While Mr. Varma’s accomplishments stand tall on their own, his strength also emanates from his family's support and dedication. Following in his footsteps, his son has embraced the hotel and catering business, (He is the CEO of all the restaurant his father owns). His wife and daughter contribute to the success and harmony of his ventures. Throughout his journey, Mr. Varma’s motto has been to embrace victories and setbacks with a smile. He firmly believes that one's reaction to circumstances defines character, and maintaining positivity is crucial, irrespective of winning or losing.

Mr. Varma is married to Nira Varma and the couple has two children. Their son Gaurav Varma along with his wife, Anisha Varma, is looking after his dad’s business. Mr. Varma’s daughter, Sheethal Kumar, is married and heads the British Event Company.
In his free time Mr. Varma loves to play cricket and travel.
